Detailed description of Coeur D Alene Resort Golf Course
Coeur D'Alene Resort Golf Course is a Resort, 18 hole golf course located in Coeur D'Alene, Idaho.
This spectacular course was designed by Scott Miller an opened for play in 1991.
Par for the course is 71. From the back tees, the course plays to 6,803 yards. From the forward tees, the course measures 4,448 yards. The longest hole on the course is # 9, a par-5 that plays to 601 yards. The shortest hole on the course is # 5, a par-3 that plays to 148 yards from the back tees.
Watch out for # 9, the 601-yard par-5 challenge is the #1 handicap hole on the course. The easiest hole at is # 12, a 249 yard par-3.
Hole #14
The world famous floating island green has become an icon in the world of golf. The most unique feature of the green is its ability to be computer controlled to a different distance from the tee each day. At approximately 15,000 square feet, the island, although intimidating, is a deceivingly large target. The back and front right of the green is protected by bunkers. Golfers take a maximum of two attempts to land safely on the island before taking a drop on the green if necessary.
To finish the hole, players board the "Putter" boat, an electric powered shuttle to ferry golfers to and from the island green. As you depart the island, the boat captain will leave you with a personalized Certificate of Achievement, commemorating the completion of one of the most memorable holes in golf.

This is definitely a "bucket list" course. Every avid golfer should try to play it at least once. We were treated like a king and queen. The forecaddie experience was absolutely incredible. The Par Threes are some of the most beautiful I've ever seen especially on one course. It would be nice if they offered a little less expensive option. As guests of the resort we had a "golf package" price. Overall it was a terrific vacation experience but not something we could afford to do more than once a year if that.

Yes, this is a course you must play - if only to try your hand at hitting the moveable, floating green. They do treat you well by meeting you immediately at your car, providing you with an impressive cart, and getting you quickly to the driving range. You are also met immediately by your fore caddie (more on that later). After warming up by hitting floating range balls into the lake, you are escorted to the first tee. My twosome was joined with another twosome and we had the one forecaddie. Yes, he does provide the service of telling you where to hit the ball, how the greens break, yardages to the pin, and cleaning your ball and holding the flagstick. But, unfortunately I found him more of a distraction than a help. I wanted to enjoy the experience but found myself noticing his excessive talking in my backswing and on two occasions he gave me the wrong yardage (I double-checked with my laser on all his yardages after I realized his errors). In one case I only had 195 yards left for my second shot on a par five and he gave me the yardage of 245 as he was lasering a tree behind the pin. I was not pleased when my 3 wood blasted over the green! And, of course, we all had to tip him at the end of the round. However, the course was gorgeous and in great shape in the month of June. It is tree-lined and has some fantastic par 3 holes. I would play it again if only I could just go out with my buddy and enjoy the experience with no distractions. Oh, the ride on the boat to the floating green is pretty cool. And, you can sit outside the clubhouse after you round with a perfect view of the hole and watch everyone try to hit the green.
